Totally Accurate Battlegrounds is a last-weirdo-standing battle royale game! Totally Accurate Battlegrounds was originally made as an April Fools’ parody of the Battle Royal genre and the game Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Jump onto an island from flying trucks, find a gun and survive and look silly while doing it, find and eliminate all your opponents to win the round! Hilarious and actually a pretty friggin’ good battle royale for a game that was made in three weeks. Gunplay is predictably a little goofy to handle, but still feels fun for what it is. Melee combat is actually very viable and there’s nothing better than going on a mad charge with the support of your teammates and taking out a squad kitted out with assault rifles. Stuff like being able to mark and ping your surroundings so that your teammates can see them too are also genuinely good quality-of-life features. For a parody game, Totally Accurate Battlegrounds is just more than laughs, it’s actually fun and offers unique mechanics to the genre, and as goofy as it tries to be, it’s actually serious at the same time, like, it’s just not goofy and buggy, it’s goofy and buggy but actually playable.
